MahaDBT Farmer Registration: Farmer ID, Documents and Step-by-Step Process

MahaDBT Farmer Registration – What Has Changed

If you are a Maharashtra farmer trying to complete your MahaDBT Farmer registration, the first thing to know is that the process has changed from 2025–26. Earlier, farmers created a username and password on the MahaDBT portal. Now, the MahaDBT Farmer portal is integrated with AgriStack, and registration works through your Farmer ID. Without a Farmer ID, an individual farmer cannot login or apply for Agriculture Department schemes.

This guide covers the complete Mahadbt Farmer registration process in the right order: first the Farmer ID, then your first MahaDBT login, then your profile check. For the full picture of schemes and status checking, also read our main MahaDBT Farmer guide.

Step 1: Create Your Farmer ID on AgriStack

The Farmer ID is created on the Maharashtra Farmer Registry portal (mhfr.agristack.gov.in). You can also get it made at a CSC or Setu centre near you.https://mhfr.agristack.gov.in/

  1. Open the Maharashtra Farmer Registry portal and start a new farmer registration.
  2. Enter your Aadhaar number and verify it with the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
  3. Fill your personal details exactly as they appear on Aadhaar.
  4. Add your land details — district, taluka, village and survey / gat number from your 7/12 extract. The portal fetches matching land records.
  5. Review everything and submit. Your Farmer ID is generated — note it down and keep it safe.

Remember: the mobile number linked with your Farmer ID is the same number on which the MahaDBT login OTP will come. If you change your mobile number, update it in the Farmer Registry first.

Step 2: First Login on the MahaDBT Farmer Portal

  1. Go to the official portal mahadbt.maharashtra.gov.in and open the Farmer section (mahadbt.maharashtra.gov.in/Farmer).
  2. In the Applicant Login area, select Individual Farmer.
  3. Enter your Farmer ID and click Send OTP.
  4. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and click Verify.
  5. Your MahaDBT Farmer account opens. This first successful login completes your MahaDBT Farmer registration.

Step 3: Check and Complete Your Profile

After the first login, open your profile before applying for anything:

  • Personal information – name, address, category, bank details. Your bank account should be linked with Aadhaar because subsidy is paid by DBT.
  • Land details – fetched from AgriStack. Check that all your survey numbers appear correctly.
  • Crop details – update the crop information for the current season if the portal asks for it.

If any land record is missing or wrong, it must be corrected in the land records / Farmer Registry — MahaDBT only displays the data it receives. Do not apply for a component on a wrong survey number; such applications are rejected during scrutiny.

Common Registration Problems and Solutions

OTP is not coming. Check that you are using the same mobile number registered with your Farmer ID, wait for a few minutes, and try again. Portal load in the first days of a scheme window commonly delays OTPs.

Farmer ID is showing wrong land details. The data comes from land records. Get the 7/12 corrected through the revenue department / Farmer Registry update process first.

Bank account is not Aadhaar-linked. Visit your bank branch and complete Aadhaar seeding, otherwise the DBT payment can fail after approval.

I registered on MahaDBT long ago with a username. What now? Individual farmers should move to Farmer ID login. Farmer groups registered before 31 March 2025 can continue with their existing username and password.

After Registration – What Next?

Once your MahaDBT Farmer registration is complete and your profile is correct, you can apply for any open Agriculture Department scheme from your dashboard. Because selection is now First Come, First Served, keep your documents ready and apply early.
